Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….
The Blue Grosbeak (Passerina caerulea) is widespread in much of the United States except in the northern corridor. It is similar to the Indigo Bunting. It is seen in overgrown fields having scattered bushes and trees. The Blue Grosbeak feeds on insects and seeds either on the ground or on weeds. It typically sings from its perch and is conspicuous. It has a large head, heavy bill, and a long tail. It is mostly dark blue in color, with two rufous wing bars. The Blue Grosbeak measures about 6.75 inches in length and 0.98 ounces in weight.
This Blue Grosbeak perched on a reed was photographed at the Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge, in Smyrna, Delaware on 6-24-2015. I used a Nikon D810 camera body and a Nikon 300mm f/2.8 VR2 lens to capture this image. Settings: 1/800 sec, f/5.6, ISO 250.
